World university games, NUGA releases list of participating athletes

As the date for the start of the 2023 World University Games draws close, Nigeria has concluded trials and selection of athletes billed to participate in the competition

The final list of successful athletes was exclusively made available to Daybreak Nigeria by the Acting Secretary General of Nigeria Universities Games Association, NUGA, Chiediebere Ezeani.

The final list which was signed by Prof M.G. YAKASAI, CHAIRMAN TECHNICAL NUGA has a total of 85 athletes that would participate in the games. The breakdown is as follows:

JUDO
14 finalists

TABLE TENNIS
10 fibalists

The World University Games, also known as the Universiade, is a multi-sport event that takes place every two years, bringing together student-athletes from around the world to compete for honours in different sporting events.

The 2023 edition of the World University Games holds in Chengdu, China, and is expected to attract over 10,000 participants from more than 170 countries.
