YPP Elects Pastor as chairman in A’Ibom

By Odo Ogenyi, Uyo

The Young Progressives Party, YPP, last weekend inaugurated a new executive to pilot the affairs of the party in Akwa Ibom in the next four years as part of its Strategy to take over the governance of the state in 2023.

Those elected to run the affairs of the party in the state include; Mr Nyeneime Andy,a popular Uyo based pastor as Chairman, Mr Wisdom Udoaka, as deputy chairman, Mr Kelvin Umoh as the Secretary and Mr Akan Emah as the State Publicity Secretary, among others.

Mr Olawale Martins, National Publicity Secretary of YPP, who conducted the election into the state executive chapter of the party said the the party is a people orientated movement and though was small, has grown to greater heights.

Martins added that members of the party are passionate men and women, who are tired of the way things were being done in the state and country.

“I want tell you that what started small has germinated and grown bigger than all of us. As we always say, YPP is more than a political party, it is a movement. We can see passionate party members here sitted.

“I see the YPP taking over Akwa Ibom state on the account of the strength of what I have seen here today.

“You can see passionate men and women who are tired of how things are being done in the state. They want a paradigm shift. They want something entirely new, something bold, something that can help them forge the way forward for the state.

“That is what you can see here from all the faces sitted. Those who have come with that intense passion to elect stakeholders that will pilot the affairs of the party in the next four years in Akwa Ibom state.” He said.

In his acceptance speech, the new state chairman promised to introduce new ethical values to lead the party to greatness.

Andy, who identified greed as the bane in Nigerian politics, said he would work to give a new orientation to members to drop the greed value and embrace greedless generation.

“I want to say first to the young people in Akwa Ibom state, thank you for the privilege to trust me in leadership. I have a single vision as Joshua to lead the people into fulfilment of the promises of God.

“I want to say this to the youths in Nigeria, now is our time for leadership. You see, it take a Joshua to take the children of Israel to the promise land and I am privileged by the grace that God has chosen me to lead Akwa Ibom into a new phase.

“I want to say this without mincing words that the Governor of Akwa Ibom State and other elected representatives will come from Young Progressives Party.

“I will bring new cultural ethical values, because if you look at it people has dropped their values as leaders and greed has taken over everything. I will make sure, I set value and my number one value will be a greedless generation.

“Once the people are greed free, they will want to take others along. I will make sure the youths are are not going into violence anymore because our generation is all about strategy and intelligence.” He concluded.
