Security operatives on Friday morning blocked the Emir’s Palace in Kano, preventing Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II from attending a royal ceremony in Bichi Local Government Area, Kano State.
According to *News Point Nigeria*, Emir Sanusi II was scheduled to preside over the presentation of a staff of office to the newly appointed District Head of Bichi. However, heavily armed security personnel reportedly barred the Emir from leaving his residence, while armoured personnel carrier (APC) vehicles blocked the palace entrance.
A source within the Kano Emirate confirmed, “The Emir has been on the phone, trying to understand what is happening.”
