A retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police and former Commandant of the Police Academy, Wudil, AIG Patrick A. Atayero, has said the security reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are yielding positive results across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones. Atayero stated this during a pull-out parade held in his honour at the Muhammadu Buhari Parade Ground of the Police Academy, Wudil, on Monday, following his retirement from the Nigeria Police Force.

He said the President was making efforts to strengthen national security and ensure that citizens could live in a safer environment. “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is making good efforts to ensure that our fatherland is safe and well secured, while all security agencies remain committed to protecting the country,” Atayero said.

Reflecting on his career, the retired police officer described his service as a rewarding journey, saying he had served the country to the best of his ability and was grateful to retire peacefully and in good health.The parade was attended by dignitaries, management staff, instructors and students of the academy.

The academy’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Umar Musa Isah, described Atayero as an effective police manager whose leadership contributed to the development of the institution. Isah said the academy would continue to focus on producing well-trained and competent police officers capable of contributing to national security and public safety.

Excellence International School, Jalingo, has reaffirmed its commitment to world-class education through international partnerships, innovative teaching and sustained investment in academic excellence. The Proprietress and Executive Director, Mrs. Martha H. Karma, stated this during the school’s ninth annual prize-giving and graduation ceremony at its permanent site along Mile Six, Jalingo, Taraba State.

Karma said the school was established to make globally competitive education accessible to children in Taraba State and beyond. She said its international outlook had been strengthened through partnerships with the Cambridge educational system, the British Council and UK-based educational consultancy Mark Brooks Education.

According to her, the partnerships have enhanced curriculum delivery and academic standards while improving students’ exposure to international opportunities. Karma also announced plans to expand the school’s presence across Nigeria and establish a tertiary institution that would provide students with a continuous educational pathway from foundational learning to higher education.

Representing Mark Brooks Education, Mrs. Ijeoma Uwakwe congratulated the school on its progress, saying she had worked with the institution for about a decade. Uwakwe said the school had obtained international accreditation to offer Cambridge examinations through the British Council. She added that the partnership could create pathways for students seeking admission to institutions in the United Kingdom.

The school’s Principal, Dr. Jeremiah Friday, said students recorded strong performances in external examinations, academic competitions and extracurricular activities during the 2025/2026 academic session. He urged graduating students to uphold integrity, discipline and excellence as they pursue their future careers.

Crystal Classic Academy, Jalingo, has unveiled a series of education reforms aimed at strengthening academic standards, digital learning and student development. The Proprietor and Chief Executive Officer of the school, Hon. Rikupki Joshua Ureyang, announced the reforms during the institution’s annual prize-giving and graduation ceremony at its permanent campus along Off Airstrip Road, Mayo-Dassa, Jalingo, Taraba State.

Ureyang also charged graduating students to uphold integrity, discipline and excellence, urging them to become worthy ambassadors of the institution and contribute positively to society.

He said the reforms include upgrading the school’s security infrastructure, modernising teaching methods, expanding Information and Communication Technology (ICT) facilities and renovating science laboratories to international standards. The Principal, Mr. Atsinafe Itsoga, described the ceremony as a celebration of academic achievement and resilience. He urged award recipients to sustain their efforts while encouraging other students to use the recognition of their peers as motivation to improve.

Itsoga said the school plans to introduce Computer-Based Test (CBT) examinations across all classes to better prepare students for technology-driven external examinations. He also disclosed plans to strengthen the school’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) preparatory programme, noting that one of its candidates scored 339 in the latest examination.

The principal added that the school would recruit more qualified teachers and invest in staff development to improve learning outcomes.The ceremony featured a student march-past, award presentations, cultural displays and the graduation of pupils and students from various levels.
