A political group drawn from Pankshin, Kanke, and Kanam Local Government Areas, operating under the banner of the PKK Progressive Alliance Group, has endorsed Rt. Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi for a third term in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general elections. The endorsement was announced on Tuesday in Jos, with the group citing Gagdi’s performance, integrity, accessibility, and legislative experience as key reasons for supporting his re-election. The group represents stakeholders across the three local government areas that make up the Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam federal constituency.

According to the alliance, continuity in leadership is crucial to sustaining ongoing development projects and maximising the benefits of federal representation. Members stressed that legislative experience and institutional knowledge are essential for effective lawmaking and constituency advocacy.

“Rt. Hon. Yusuf Gagdi’s performance has set a new standard for representation in PKK,” the group said. “His accessibility, humility, and direct interventions—often supplemented by personal resources—have earned him widespread admiration across the constituency.”

The group noted that since his election in 2019 and re-election in 2023, Gagdi has emerged as one of the most active and people-focused lawmakers in the National Assembly. They described his tenure as marked by legislative productivity and tangible constituency development.A statement jointly signed by Adamu Tanimu Pankshin, leader of the group, and Barry Lawson, its spokesperson, highlighted Gagdi’s role in sponsoring and securing presidential assent for several landmark bills. These include the establishment of the Federal University of Education, Pankshin, and the Federal College of Education, Dengi (Kanam).

According to the statement, these institutions have brought federal presence closer to the people while expanding access to higher education and skills development for thousands of youths within the constituency. The group also credited Gagdi with facilitating major infrastructure projects across Pankshin, Kanke, and Kanam. These include the construction and rehabilitation of more than 23 rural and township roads, classroom blocks, health centres, skills acquisition centres, and town halls aimed at boosting economic empowerment and social cohesion. In addition, the alliance noted that the lawmaker has supported traditional institutions by providing improved working environments while preserving the cultural heritage of the communities.

On human capital development, the group said Gagdi has consistently supported youth and women empowerment programmes, employment opportunities, scholarships, and refunds of examination fees for WAEC, NECO, and JAMB candidates. These initiatives, they said, have positively impacted households in virtually every ward of the constituency. The PKK Progressive Alliance Group therefore called on residents of Pankshin, Kanke, and Kanam—regardless of political affiliation—to rally behind Gagdi’s third-term ambition.“

As we approach the next electoral cycle, we firmly believe that continuity in his leadership is essential to consolidate ongoing projects, attract more federal interventions, and deepen development in our constituency,” the statement said. The group concluded that Gagdi’s record of service, trustworthiness, and commitment to the people makes him well-positioned to continue representing the PKK constituency effectively at the National Assembly.
