Security challenge: Zamfara suspends all devt projects, sanctions four traditional rulers.

Governor Abdul-Aziz Yari of Zamfara state has ordered the immediate suspension of four traditional rulers in the state for their alleged criminal linkage with the notorious bandits.

This hint was announced by the commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs Alhaji Bello Dankande Gamji at a meeting with press.

Dankande who spoke on behalf of the governor, stressed that state government is now determined to deal ruthlessly with anybody found wanting in the fight against bandits.

“the priority attention of the government is now focused on committing every available resource to end the current banditry in the state” he stressed, explaining that government will not spare anybody, no matter how highly placed he may be.

The governor also directed all the fourteen council chairmen to suspend all projects and lend priority attention to fight banditry.

Governor Yari has for the second time redeemed the government’s pledge of one million naira gift to any one who recovers a rifle Ak47 from bandits.

The commissioner local government has once again on behalf of governor Yari, performed the distribution of one million naira to each of the three Volunteer men who succeeded in recovering a rifle from the bandits.
