Why ASUU extends strike for another 12 weeks

Following the no ‘notice of meeting’ disagreement between ASUU and FG; ASUU had it’s National Executive Council meeting which started on Sunday night at the Comrade Festus Iyayi Secretariat, University of Abuja.

Thus extended the strike for another two weeks.

Although there were speculations that the warning strike will be called off on Monday, since the President has approved N456 billion for tertiary institutions in the country.

Contrary to the speculations, the warning strike came to end,but the President ASUU, Emmanuel Isodeke in a signed statement said the rollover strike was effective from 12:01 am 8th may, 2022.

He said it was to give the President more time to satisfactorily resolve all the outstanding issues.
