A’Ibom/Mimshac screen 55 persons for Isreal automobile training

At least 55 persons from Akwa Ibom have been screened by officials of Mimshac Automobile Technologies to select 20 to be sponsored for an automobile training in Isreal in conjunction with the state government.

The screening which took place at the premises of the company in Ikot Ukap, Itu Local Council of the state last weekend also had state officials of the Civil Liberties Organization, CLO to observe the selection process.

Governor Udom Emmanuel, had, during the groundbreaking ceremony of the Plant in Itu in 2015 promised that 20 indegenes of the state would on completion of the plant be sent to Israel for training on the production of automobiles.

The 20, Emmanuel had also said would later become the pioneer staff of the plant.

Those who turned up for the exercise, cut across automobile mechanics, automobile electricians, panel beaters, welders and painters.

The process leading to the shortlisting of the 55 candidates was also thrown open to qualified persons through the Ministry of Economic Development.

The exercise, which was theoretical, would also have the candidates further subjected to workshop practical examination on a future date.

Officials of the Ministry and that of the company carried out the screening exercise, observed by the CLO team which had paid several visits to the project site as part of its good governance tour and tracking of the projects of the current administration in Akwa Ibom.

The CLO team, led by its State Chairman, Otuekong Franklyn Isong, was received by the company’s Managing Director, Engr. Valentino Okorie and was later conducted round the facility by the companyand observed that the plant has been completed and appears ready for commissioning.
