I Didn’t Resign as PDP Govs Forum Chairman – Tambuwal

The Governor of Sokoto State, Waziri Tambuwal, has denied ever resigning from his position as the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governors Forum.

Tambuwal was one of the PDP presidential aspirants before his eventual withdrawal for Atiku Abubakar during the party’s primary.

He disclosed this in a press statement issued on Friday by the Director General of the forum, CID Maduabum.

The statement read: “This is to inform the general public and stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party, that the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors Forum (PDP-GF), Rt Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has not resigned as Chairman of the Forum, contrary to some media reports.

“Members of the PDP Governors Forum are working behind the scenes to resolve all contending issues concerning the party. To this end a meeting of the Forum will soon be convened”.

Meanwhile, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Olaka Nwogu, has said Senator Walid Jibrin was hounded out of the office as BoT chairman of the party against his will in order to sustain Iyorcha Ayu (PDP chairman) in the office.
