Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has announced the termination of all political officeholders’ appointments and dissolved the state Executive Council. The decision was conveyed through a letter signed by Mr. Segun Ogunwuyi, the Chairman of the Transition and Inauguration Committee, who also serves as the Chief of Staff to the Governor. In the letter, issued in Ibadan, the governor instructed the affected appointees to hand over government assets to the most senior civil servants in their respective Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.

The governor, with the exception of political office-holders in statutory commissions, did not include them in the directive.
