Bella Shmurda Breaks Silence as Naira Marley Rejects Blame for Mohbad’s Passing

By Daniel Edu

Nigerian music artist Abiola Ahmed Akinbiyi, professionally known as Bella Shmurda, has taken to social media with a cryptic message following his fellow musician Naira Marley’s denial of any involvement in the tragic demise of Mohbad, a former signee.

In a statement shared on his Instagram page on the evening of September 26, Naira Marley firmly asserted that he bore no responsibility, either directly or indirectly, for Mohbad’s passing. He expressed his shock at Mohbad’s death and the false accusations and threats aimed at him.

Naira Marley acknowledged that he and Mohbad had their differences during their collaboration, but he stressed that their disagreements had never escalated to the point of wishing harm upon one another. He revealed that he had been out of the country since August 31 but intended to return, as he had been invited by the police who were actively investigating the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death. He assured full cooperation with the police’s inquiries, emphasizing that he had no reason to be on the run, as he was innocent of any wrongdoing. Naira Marley firmly stated that the truth about Mohbad’s death would eventually come to light.

Additionally, Naira Marley vehemently refuted allegations of being a drug lord and any connection between his record label and a drug cartel. He clarified that he had never incited violence against Mohbad nor instructed anyone to harm him since Mohbad’s departure from the record label in September 2022.

Shortly after Naira Marley’s statement, Bella Shmurda took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to post a cryptic message, simply saying, “Sha go and report yourself.”
