“Governor Uba Sani Optimistic About Fuel Subsidy Removal”

By Daniel Edu

In the face of the challenges posed by the removal of fuel subsidy, Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has expressed optimism that Nigerians will eventually reap the benefits of democracy. During an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Governor Sani highlighted the efforts of President Tinubu in mitigating the hardships resulting from the subsidy removal.

Governor Sani appealed to Nigerians for patience, explaining that President Tinubu and the governors require more time to tackle the numerous challenges confronting the nation. He emphasized that they are implementing preventative measures and strategies to minimize the impact of the fuel subsidy removal.

Furthermore, Governor Sani called upon the Nigerian Labour Congress, the Trade Union Congress (TUC), and other trade union leaders to allow President Tinubu some time to address the consequences of the subsidy removal. He acknowledged that while there was a fuel subsidy in place, it had not significantly benefited Nigeria due to the high levels of corruption associated with it.

Governor Sani stressed the importance of cautious and realistic approaches to these issues, avoiding unfulfillable promises. He expressed confidence in President Tinubu’s plans and the intentions of the governors to work for the betterment of all citizens.

Governor Sani also noted that the NLC, TUC, and labor unions are actively engaged in the government’s actions and are aware of the challenges facing the nation. This statement underscores the ongoing dialogue and collaboration between the government and labor unions in addressing the subsidy removal and its implications for the Nigerian population.
