Gov Alia Condemns Attacks on Benue Communities

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State, has condemned in strong terms the attacks on Ayilamo and Mbachohon communities in Logo and Gwer West Local Government Areas of the state where suspected armed herdsmen allegedly shot dead 9 persons.
The Governor who frowned at the heinous activities of the miscreants who maim and kill innocent Benue citizens in cold blood, warned that these nefarious acts will no longer be tolerated.
Fr Alia who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, in a statement said Benue is an agrarian society whose economy is largely dependent on producing crops and other farm products, warned that “we can’t watch our people killed daily on their farmlands and villages for a cause unknown to us.”
The Governor who lamented cases of alleged herdsmen attacks on Benue communities leading to loss of lives and properties, said he will not rest until such acts are curtailed.
He charged traditional leaders as well as youths to be vigilant and report any suspicious movements in their various places to security agents for necessary action.
Governor Alia who sympathized with those who lost their loved ones, Implored security operatives to apprehend the perpetrators of the dasterdly acts.
Day Break learned that armed herdsmen allegedly attacked communities in Ayilamo and Mbachohon communities in Logo and Gwer West Local Government Areas, killing no fewer than 9 persons on the spot in renewed attacks.
