Lack Of Severe Punishment Influencing Financial Crimes-Group.

By Jabiru Hassan, Kano.

Better Nigeria Support Group (NSG) has called on all Anti graft agencies to ensure that severe punishment is done to financial crimes activities in order to makes Nigeria great and progressive.

The call was made in a press statement issued to the group’s national chairman Sheikh Mustapha Adamu in Kano where he opined that making severe punishment to offenders in financial management should be punished without fear or mercy to serve as a lesson to others.

” Nigeria is a wealthy country but our leaders have failed us in financial crimes where many elected officers are being proved for looting and other financial mismanagement but at the end of the prosecution, nothing is done which is a great set back to the war against corruption “.

Mustapha Adamu disclosed that NSG canvassed full support for severe punishment to all financial crimes because from what is going on, the war against corruption is being sabotaged by anti graft agencies which comprises EFCC, ICPC and states anti corruption agencies established by the states governors.

In conclusion, Sheikh Mustapha advised the present administration to ensure that all appointees that are under prove to be suspended until the end of the judgement so as to ensure full capacity prosecution is done.
