Nigerian Army Soldier Takes Own Life in Ogun Barracks

In a tragic incident, a soldier identified as Boyi ThankGod from the 35 Artillery Brigade, Alamala, Abeokuta, reportedly shot himself to death on standby duty in Ogun State. The incident occurred on Armed Forces Remembrance Day. A disturbing image circulating on social media shows the lifeless body of the soldier lying in a pool of blood after the fatal self-inflicted gunshot wound. A source within the barracks confirmed the incident, stating that the military police are investigating, and all soldiers present during the incident have been taken into custody for statements. As of now, the brigade command’s spokesperson has not provided comments, and the Ogun State Police spokesperson is yet to respond to inquiries.
