Breaking: Anambra Community Leader Assassinated by Gunmen

Tragedy struck in Umuoji Community, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, as unidentified assailants gunned down the President-General, Silas Onyima.

Reports indicate that a group of about 15 hoodlums stormed the victim’s residence on Friday evening, opening fire and fatally injuring him, instilling fear and tension within the community.

According to a source, Onyima, who was recently elected as the community’s president-general and had overseen an election process, fell victim to the masked attackers.

Confirming the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, stated that law enforcement personnel have been deployed to the area to investigate the crime.

Ikenga assured that the police are actively working with eyewitnesses and community members to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice, while the deceased’s body has been deposited at the morgue.

Further details on the incident are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
