“Residents Block Abuja-Kaduna Highway Following Bandit Attack on Kaduna Community”

By Milcah Tanimu

Residents of Goningora in the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State took to the streets on Thursday, blocking the Abuja-Kaduna highway in protest against an attack launched on their community by armed bandits.

According to reports, the bandits attacked the community on Wednesday night, resulting in the tragic deaths of at least two individuals, with seven others being abducted.

The aggrieved residents, in response to the violence, staged the blockade on Thursday morning, causing significant traffic congestion on the busy Abuja-Kaduna highway. This situation has left numerous motorists and travelers stranded along the route.

It is noteworthy that this recent assault on the Goningora community occurs merely a week after soldiers reportedly eliminated a notorious bandit leader, Boderi Isyaku, along with some of his accomplices in the same Chikun LGA.
