Operatives from the Lagos Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have officially confirmed the arrest of Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, on allegations of spraying Naira notes.
In a statement released via X on Thursday, the Commission disclosed that the 31-year-old was invited for questioning following a video report depicting him spraying and displaying wads of new Naira notes at the premiere of a movie titled “Ajakaju,” produced by Nollywood actress and producer Eniola Ajao, at Film One Circle Mall in Lekki, Lagos, on March 24, 2024.
The EFCC further revealed that their investigation uncovered additional instances where Bobrisky allegedly engaged in the same offense at various event centers and parties.
“Upon the Commission’s invitation, Bobrisky voluntarily appeared at the Lagos Zonal Command of the EFCC on the morning of Wednesday, April 4, 2024, for interrogation and provided his statements,” the statement read.
It concluded by stating that Bobrisky would be charged to court once the investigations are concluded.
