Standard Version of National Anthem to Be Released Soon – NOA

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has announced that a standardized version of the national anthem will be issued following consultations with key stakeholders.

Malam Lanre Issa-Onilu, the Director-General of NOA, provided this assurance in a statement released by the agency’s Deputy Director of Press, Mr. Paul Odenyi, on Tuesday in Abuja.

Issa-Onilu addressed the issue after multiple versions of the anthem surfaced on social media. He noted, “Our COMOS, who were instructed to learn the new national anthem, reported that while many Nigerians are eager to learn and promote the anthem, there is confusion regarding the correct version. Questions have also been raised about which stanzas serve as the national prayer.”

The Director-General assured that a decision on the stanzas to be adopted as the national prayer would be made after the necessary approval processes are completed.

Issa-Onilu also advised government agencies wishing to play the anthem at their events to contact the NOA for the official version.
