$245bn Investment Opportunities in Africa’s Gas Sector

State Commissioner Ministry for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, Ibrahim Dadi Adare made this known while addressing newsmen on the achievements of governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto.

He said the Ministry has recorded many remarkable achievements esapecially in the sectors of Health,Agriculture , Education Religious Affairs Sports and Security.

In the sector of health,the Ministry has procured substantial quantity of drugs and medical amenities and distributed to many LGAs while in agriculture, procured abd distributed 100 tonnes of fertilizer, seeds and 1800 bags of NPK to 244 polling units for dry season farming.

In the Education sector Adare said they had sponsored numerous indigenes to study various courses at College of Nursing Sciences and Midwifery Tambuwal and Northwest University among others.

With regards to Religious activities, the Commissioner said they distributed tonnes of cement,roofing sheets,ceiling and more than one groups that started projects but due to financial constraints could not finish.while on the sporting activities, the Ministry has sponsored soccer competetion among the 23 LGAs in the state.In the area of security, the Ministry has assisted areas facing security challenges by purchasing grains and distributed to IDPs.

Meanwhile 190 Technocrats and Bureaucrats are selected to work towards established goals of the Ministry of Agriculture.Commissioner for Agriculture, Bello Muhammad Wamakko the technocrats, bureaucrats and othercsupporting staff at various specialized departments are working in harmony for the realizations of the established goals of the Ministry.

He averred that they supported farming activities with adequate agricultural imputs and extension services for wet and dry season farming.He further asserted that their focus and vision is essentially to develop framework to enhance the capacity of farmers with requisite skills in keeping with the dynamics of global best practices towards achieving food sufficiency.

Withing the year under review, the Ministry has purchsed assorted grains as 57,000 bags of rice, 26,000 of millet and 44,000 of maize and distributed ti farmers free of charge.These according to Bello Wamakko are some of the achievements recorded by the Ministry within one year.
