Hunger: Kaduna Man begs to drop cell phone for 5 cups of beans

By Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

Apparently owning to severity of the economic hardship and hunger in the state, a 25 years old adult has offered his cell phone for five cups of beans, promising to payback later and collect the phone.

Funny however, the seller openly rejected the plea and refused to give the beans to the hungry young man who later left saying “Let me go and sleep in hunger”.

The ugly trend and sympathetic scenario happened in a place called Jaba road in U/Boro area of Sabon Tasha in Kaduna state, on Monday in a busy evening
roadside market, according to many eyewitnesses.

Asked why she refused to grant the boy’s pleads, the woman seller bearing Mama Imayo said she’s is afraid of misplacing the phone or losing it before the owner comes back for it.

She said ” Nooo! I refused to give him because, what if the phone get missing or stolen from me before he comes back, especially that i do not know him.
According to her, the boy seems to have also taken alcoholic drinks from somewhere, and came to her to asked for beans with his phone.
