Two Died, Many Hospitalized Due Heavy Downpour in Sokoto

The Report by NEMA SOO in Sokoto indicates that flood disaster in Gwadabawa and Illela LGAs of Sokoto state has caused lost of lives, destroy houses and hospitalized many homelands.

The heavy downpour occurred occurred on 3rd August, 2024 which lasted for more than 10 hours rendered many families homeless and many farmlands submerged in both Gwadabawa and Illela LGAs of Sokoto State.

The assessment team discovered that two persons lost their lives in Illela LGA and many were at hospital receiving treatment. While in Gwadabawa LGA, no death was recorded but more than 150 persons were injured.

Some of the areas are not accessible due to the level of the water that submerged the communities.
