The Police have neutralized a notorious kidnapping kingpin and sea pirate, Ubong Effiong Archibong, also known as “Condiment,” who was responsible for several high-profile kidnappings and murders in and around Akwa Ibom.

Archibong, the leader of the Bling Bling Marine Strike Force, had been terrorizing the Uruan/Oron waterways. He was involved in the kidnapping of High Court Judge Joy Unwana and the killing of her police orderly, Inspector ThankGod Edet.

He was also responsible for the gruesome murder of the CEO of Emem and Sons Nig. Ltd., the kidnapping of his sales representative, the abduction of Pharmacist Joemel, and the kidnapping of Mr. Brown, the CEO of Mingles Hotel.

According to a statement from the State Public Relations Officer, Timfon John, yesterday in Uyo, the suspect was neutralized during a gun battle with operatives of the Command at his hideout in Uyanga Community, Cross River State.

A G3 rifle with four live rounds of ammunition was recovered from the suspect. His body has been taken to the morgue, and investigations are ongoing with the aim of arresting other members of the gang.

The Police have reassured the people of Akwa Ibom of the Command’s determination to maintain safety and security in the state, making it a conducive place for businesses to thrive.

They also urged the public to report any suspicious activity to the Police, promising to serve with professionalism.
