JUST IN: Police declare Briton, Nigerian wanted for attempting to overthrow Tinubu

The Nigeria Police Force announced on Monday that they have declared a British national, Andrew Wynne, also known as Andrew Povich, and a Nigerian, Lucky Obiyan, wanted for allegedly plotting to overthrow the democratically elected government in Nigeria.

According to the police, Wynne is accused of building a network of sleeper cells aimed at toppling the government and plunging the country into chaos.

Speaking to journalists in Abuja, Force spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi revealed that Wynne had rented a space at Labour House and established a school as a cover for his subversive activities.

“The Nigeria Police Force has launched a comprehensive investigation into the activities of foreign nationals and subversive elements plotting to undermine the democratically elected government in Nigeria through unconstitutional regime change and orchestrating violence across the country,” Adejobi stated.

He further disclosed that nine suspects had already been apprehended following extensive intelligence gathering and collaboration with other security agencies. These individuals are believed to have received significant financial backing from foreign sources to destabilize the country.

“Preliminary findings suggest that these individuals orchestrated and funded violent protests, spread false information, and engaged in other unlawful activities to create anarchy and justify their illegal plot to overthrow the government,” Adejobi added.

The investigation identified Andrew Wynne as the key foreign mercenary involved, allegedly providing financial support and operational guidance to his Nigerian collaborators. Wynne reportedly rented space for an “Iva Valley Bookshop” and established “STARS of Nations Schools” in Abuja as fronts for his activities.

“Documentary evidence and confessions revealed that Andrew Wynne issued directives, monitored progress, and provided finance and operational guidance to achieve unconstitutional regime change in Nigeria,” Adejobi explained. “He deployed several billions of naira to his Nigerian collaborators, urging them to mobilize the public to violently storm police facilities and military barracks, hoping to incite a bloodbath that would lead to international condemnation of the Nigerian government.”

Adejobi also confirmed that both Wynne and his local coordinator, Lucky Obiyan, have fled the country. “They have been declared wanted, and a global manhunt has commenced in connection with this investigation,” he said.
