Nela Ekpenyong Joins Wild Africa as Ambassador to Promote Wildlife Conservation

By   Milcah   Tanimu

Wild Africa has appointed Nela Ekpenyong, CEO of LEGA.C Capital, as its new ambassador to spearhead efforts in combating illegal wildlife trade in Nigeria. Ekpenyong joins a prestigious group of Nigerian celebrities, including Davido, 2Baba, and Alex Iwobi, all dedicated to wildlife conservation.

In a statement, Festus Iyorah, Wild Africa’s Nigerian representative, praised Ekpenyong’s deep understanding of the challenges facing Nigeria’s wildlife and her commitment to addressing them. “We are excited to have Nela on board as our ambassador. Her expertise and passion for conservation will be crucial in protecting Nigeria’s biodiversity,” Iyorah stated.

Ekpenyong expressed her enthusiasm for the role, highlighting her lifelong commitment to nature. “It’s an honor to join Wild Africa in this shared vision to protect and preserve Africa’s wildlife and wild lands,” she said.

This appointment comes as the Nigerian government intensifies its fight against wildlife trafficking, recently unveiling an elephant sculpture made from confiscated wildlife products in Abuja.
