The decade-long rivalry between Wizkid and Davido has reignited as Wizkid unleashed a series of insults directed at his fellow Nigerian artist. The social media firestorm began late on October 1, 2024, when Wizkid took to X (formerly Twitter) with a cryptic tweet stating, “Beg me! just like …,” leading fans to connect it to a viral video involving Davido.
The post quickly gained traction, sparking intense debates among fans of both artists in the comment section. Responding to a fan’s tweet encouraging him to drop an album, Wizkid proclaimed, “Bingos got nothing on starboy General!! till infinity,” further fueling the animosity.
Not one to hold back, Wizkid then tweeted, “Frogido!”—a direct jab at Davido—before launching into a more scathing remark: “Pussy boys dropping mids again! 80 trash! We got 80 albums for any song y’all drop!”
When challenged by a user asking if his songs would sell without the beef, Wizkid replied, “I don’t beef wack niggas! We all know he’s wack! No talent!”
The roots of their contentious relationship date back to 2014, when a series of subliminal jabs were exchanged on social media. Wizkid previously criticized Davido’s concert venues, while Davido fired back, implying that Wizkid’s sound was inferior.
As both artists continue to dominate the Afrobeats scene, their rivalry remains a hot topic among fans and music critics alike.
