Doguwa Responds to Kwankwaso’s 2027 Predictions

Alhassan Doguwa, a member of the House of Representatives, has strongly countered former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso’s claims about the All Progressives Congress (APC) facing rejection in the 2027 elections, labeling Kwankwaso’s comments as “mere hallucination.”

During a recent event in Kano, Kwankwaso criticized the APC government, suggesting that Nigerians, especially in the North, would not tolerate its leadership beyond 2027. “Nigerians are tired and cannot endure beyond 2027,” he stated, addressing a group of defectors joining the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

In response, Doguwa, who chairs the Northern Regional Caucus of the 10th House of Representatives, accused Kwankwaso of still grappling with the aftermath of his defeat to President Bola Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election. He asserted that the APC is dedicated to improving the nation and suggested that Kwankwaso should consider stepping away from politics.

“At a political gathering on Thursday, my colleague Kwankwaso took his hallucination to the moon when he said Nigerians are tired of the APC and will change it in 2027,” Doguwa remarked. He emphasized that President Tinubu is committed to driving Nigeria towards progress and prosperity.

Doguwa further criticized the NNPP for its alleged lack of performance in Kano and expressed confidence that the APC would reclaim the state in upcoming elections. He also highlighted Tinubu’s accomplishments, including securing over $30 billion in foreign direct investment, improving the country’s debt service ratio, and addressing insecurity in the North West.
