In a formal announcement made in Abuja, Tournament Coordinator John Bassey Ekpenyong highlighted the strategic choice of ambassadors, noting their roots in grassroots football as a key factor. The involvement of these esteemed football personalities is set to bring heightened excitement and credibility to the Senate President Cup, which will run from November 10 to 17 in Abuja. Notably, during Senator Godswill Akpabio’s tenure as the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, over 200 talents were identified, developed, and promoted to leagues around the world.
