A 10-year-old girl was reportedly abducted by suspected bandits from her home in Ninsi village, also known as Oil Village, located in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The incident, which occurred about a week ago, has left her parents devastated as they await any word from the kidnappers.
Witnesses revealed that the heavily armed attackers stormed the family’s residence at night and kidnapped the girl in the presence of her parents. No ransom demand or information about her whereabouts has been received since the incident.
A neighbor disclosed that the girl’s mother, a trader at Nonso Plaza in Sabon Tasha, struggles to support the family, while the father may have been mistakenly perceived as wealthy, possibly making the family a target.
Efforts to track the girl have so far yielded no results. The area, located near the Kaduna refinery and close to a bypass linking the Kaduna-Abuja highway, has witnessed increasing insecurity in recent times.
Attempts to contact the Kaduna State Police Command spokesperson, ASP Mansir Hassan, for a statement were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
The incident underscores the growing wave of insecurity in the region, with residents calling for intensified government efforts to protect vulnerable communities.
