Police to Partner PCRC in Combating Cybercrimes and Other Criminal Activities in Kaduna – CP

The Kaduna State Police Command has announced plans to collaborate with the newly elected executives of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) to combat the growing menace of cybercrimes and other criminal activities in the state.

Commissioner of Police (CP), AIG Ibrahim Abdullahi, made the disclosure on Thursday in Kaduna during the inauguration of the 26-member executive of the PCRC in the state.

The new executive is led by an experienced elder statesman, Alhaji Sanusi Muhammad, with Alhaji Abdul Hassan, Deputy Editor-in-Chief (DEIC) of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), serving as Deputy Secretary. The oaths of office were administered by Alhaji Tanko Dada, a retired Assistant Editor-in-Chief (AEIC) of NAN and the National Vice Chairman, North-Central.

According to Ibrahim, the police command will actively collaborate with the committee to tackle a range of crimes and criminal activities across the state.

Represented by CSP Titus Ibrahim, Officer-in-Charge of Community Policing, the CP lamented the involvement of vibrant youths in cybercrimes and other criminal activities.

“We will work closely with the new PCRC executives to reverse this alarming trend and channel the vast potential of the youth toward positive endeavors,” Abdullahi said.

The CP also commended the PCRC for its continued partnership with the Nigeria Police Force, noting that the committee has been integral to the command’s success, particularly in gathering credible intelligence and executing various developmental projects.

The National President of PCRC, Alhaji Mogaji Olaniyan, expressed his satisfaction with the unity and preparedness of the committee in the state to take it to greater heights.

Olaniyan also revealed that the committee would collaborate with various transport unions in the state to combat the movement of illicit drugs, illegal firearms, and other crimes.

“PCRC is fully committed to supporting the Police and other security agencies to ensure the safety and security of Nigerian lives and property,” he said.

While pledging that peace would remain a hallmark of the Kaduna PCRC, Olaniyan warned against insolence, indiscipline, impersonation, and insubordination by any member. He urged members to be committed, loyal, and dedicated to advancing the PCRC’s goals.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, ASP Mansur Hassan, assured of the committee’s cooperation in improving policing efforts, adding that youth energy must be directed toward national development.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected PCRC Chairman, Alhaji Sanusi Muhammad, promised to be diligent and patriotic in his role, acknowledging the trust placed in him by the members and national leadership of the committee.

Muhammad vowed, “We will honor this trust and never falter. We are committed to elevating PCRC and bolstering the security of the people of the state and, by extension, Nigeria.”

He assured that the new PCRC team would work tirelessly to assist the Police in all their activities, as they are dedicated to contributing to national security and development.
