By Eunice Nnachi, Yenagoa

Over 600 widows, persons living with disabilities, and elderly individuals received Christmas gifts from the Ikiomoye Kaka Foundation and Timi Ziriki Foundation at the DSP Alamieyeseigha Banquet hall in Yenagoa over the weekend. The gifts included essential food items such as rice, cooking oil, Maggi cubes, and sardines, aimed at spreading holiday cheer and support to vulnerable community members.
According to the Convener, Hon Timi Ziriki, this initiative highlights the foundations’ commitment to uplifting those in need during the festive season, ensuring that they are not forgotten during this time of celebration.

Speaking with journalists after the distribution, Ziriki said, It’s yuletide season and they decided to give back to humanity to show love so that everybody can have something to eat on Christmas day.
“We were able to empowered 600 and that includes widows, person with disability and elderly . This is the first time we doing this and I pray that it continues, this is the first time am given food items but not the first time am given relief materials. Earlier this year we have also given out wheelchairs and clutches to those that need it .

“It will not be a bad idea if more collaborators come because February 14 is around the corner and it’s valentine, a period to show love instead of showing lost. It’s better to show love than lost”.

In his part, the representative of Ikiomoye Kaka Foundation, Abareowei Caleb said,Bayelsa is a home base for them in the South South and this is a festive period and it will not be good that some persons do not have food to eat when others are enjoying themselves .

“It’s an initiative to reach out to the need to make sure everybody is happy during this festive season especially across the eight local government areas”.

One of the beneficiaries of the items, Mayor who is also the joint Chairman of the people with disability, commended the NGO’s for their kind gesture at this critical time.
