In a significant move to improve security and aesthetics in Mikang Local Government Area, the Council Chairman, Dr. Benard Soepding Alkali, has successfully installed over 200 solar-powered streetlights around the council headquarters.

The installation is part of Dr. Benard’s efforts to modernize the council headquarters and create a secure environment for residents, visitors, and staff. The newly installed lights have greatly enhanced visibility, making it safer for people to navigate the area, especially after dark.

The solar-powered streetlights are energy-efficient and environmentally friendly, reducing the council’s reliance on diesel generators and minimizing carbon emissions. They also help reduce the risk of accidents related to generator use.

At the commissioning of the streetlights, Dr. Benard expressed the council’s commitment to providing a safe and conducive environment. He emphasized, “A well-lit environment not only deters crime but also fosters economic growth and development.”

This project is part of a broader plan to upgrade the council’s infrastructure. Dr. Benard shared, “We are working tirelessly to make our headquarters a model of excellence, showcasing the beauty and potential of Mikang LGA.”

The streetlight installation has been well received by both residents and visitors, who are praising the initiative as a positive development. The previously dimly lit council headquarters now boasts a new look, with the streetlights adding beauty and sophistication to the area.
