The Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, has called on Muslims across the country to continue supporting President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking at his residence in Abakaliki on Sunday night while breaking the Ramadan fast with Muslim faithful, Umahi urged them to pray for the success of Tinubu’s administration, emphasizing that things were already improving under his leadership.

“In your prayers, please pray for the President, for his success, and for all the great work he is doing. He came in the name of God, and God has shown Himself mighty and strong for our President. As we prepare to complete our first tenure, may he also be re-elected for a second term to complete the good job he has started,” Umahi said.

The minister expressed confidence that the worst economic and governance challenges were over, attributing the progress to divine intervention.

Umahi, a former Governor of Ebonyi State, also praised Governor Francis Nwifuru, commending his inclusive leadership that has fostered unity in the state.

“The Governor of Ebonyi State has brought peace. There is no more opposition in Ebonyi; only APC is in the state. He has united everyone and is working hard to develop the state. Pray for him, that he will complete his first term successfully and secure a second term. May God lift Ebonyi to become number one in the country in peace, prosperity, and good governance,” he added.

In their responses, Alhaji Danjuma Gambo, Leader of the Muslim Community in Ebonyi, and Rev. Scamb Nwokolo, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), commended Umahi for his support for all religious groups in the state.

They assured the minister of their continued prayers and support for both President Tinubu and Governor Nwifuru, describing the Ramadan fast-breaking event as a commendable act of unity.
