Ramadan: Wike Distributes 10,000 Bags of Rice to Muslims in Abuja

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has distributed 10,000 bags of rice to Muslims in the Gwagwalada Area Council as part of Ramadan celebrations.

Represented by his Chief of Staff, Chidi Amadi, Wike emphasized the significance of Ramadan as a period of fasting, prayer, and almsgiving. He highlighted the importance of supporting those in need, ensuring that the rice reaches the most vulnerable members of the community.

“I urge our religious leaders and associations to ensure fair distribution of these items. Ramadan is a time to support the less privileged and those in need. 10,000 bags of rice will go a long way in assisting many people during this season,” Wike said.

He also called on corporate organizations and NGOs to contribute to humanitarian efforts during Ramadan by partnering with religious organizations to provide aid.

Community Leaders Appreciate Gesture

Imam Lawal Mustapha, Chief Imam of the FCT Minister’s Residence, commended Wike for his generosity, describing it as a true act of kindness.

“In our faith, kindness deserves kindness. We deeply appreciate this gesture and will keep the Minister in our prayers. Leaders should always show compassion by supporting those in need.”

Similarly, AbdulRazzaq Surajo, Principal of the School for the Deaf, expressed gratitude, noting that such acts of generosity help ease the burden of rising living costs.

“The Minister is making a real difference in Abuja, improving lives and ensuring a sense of direction for the FCT and Nigeria. We pray for his continued success and good health.”

The distribution aims to alleviate hardship during Ramadan, allowing more people to celebrate Sallah with joy and gratitude.
