The announcement was made on Tuesday by the Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy, Declan Emelumba. Governor Uzodimma was expected to speak at the State House of Assembly, outlining the government’s achievements, ongoing challenges, and future plans.

Emelumba, however, disclosed that the address has been deferred to a later date yet to be announced.

“The State of the State address, earlier scheduled to be delivered by His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, has been postponed. A new date will be communicated in due course,” the statement read.

He apologized for any inconvenience caused by the postponement and noted that the event was expected to host key stakeholders across the state, including representatives of traditional institutions.
