EFCC Nabs 74 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Abuja Hotel Raid

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 74 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud during a raid at a hotel in Abuja.

The operation took place on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Joyous Hotel in Nyanya, a suburb of the Federal Capital Territory, following credible intelligence linking the suspects to cybercrime activities.

In a statement issued by EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, the commission said operatives recovered 86 mobile phones, a rifle pistol, and three motorcycles during the raid.

Oyewale noted that the suspects are currently under investigation and will be charged in court upon the conclusion of the probe.

“They were arrested following actionable intelligence on their suspected involvement in internet-related offences. Items recovered include 86 phones, one rifle pistol, and three motorcycles. They will be charged to court soon,” the statement read.
