By Jabiru Hassan

The Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jibril Ismail Falgore, has reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to reduce road traffic crashes and enhance public safety.

Falgore gave the assurance during a courtesy visit to the Corps Marshal, Shehu Muhammad, at the FRSC headquarters.

In a statement released by his spokesperson, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, the Speaker emphasized that the Assembly is actively working on enacting impactful legislation to improve road safety administration and traffic enforcement, not only in Kano State but across Nigeria.

He stated that more effective laws are currently in the pipeline, aimed at minimizing road accidents and promoting safer road use, adding that a strategic partnership with the FRSC is key to achieving these objectives.

“The Kano State House of Assembly is committed to supporting relevant legislation that will improve road safety standards and administration,” Falgore said.

In his remarks, Corps Marshal Shehu Muhammad described the Speaker’s visit as a valuable opportunity to explore enhanced cooperation between the FRSC and the state legislature. He underscored the need for strong legislative backing to drive effective road safety management nationwide.

The visit by Rt. Hon. Jibril Ismail Falgore to the FRSC headquarters underscores the Kano State House of Assembly’s resolve to produce quality laws that will help reduce road crashes and save lives across the country.
