Coalition Praises Tinubu’s Reforms, Hails Tunji-Ojo’s Role in National Transformation

By Israel Adamu, Jos

A coalition of civil rights organizations has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for rekindling hope among Nigerians through purposeful leadership and the appointment of competent ministers, with special recognition given to the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

In a joint statement signed by its leaders, Chisom Ochiaga and Obaseyi Ogunrinde, the coalition described Tinubu’s Independence Day address as both candid and reassuring, noting that it highlighted the administration’s achievements in critical sectors. The group hailed the President’s acknowledgment of Tunji-Ojo’s performance as a “clear example of the benefits of prioritizing competence, dedication, and vision over politics in leadership appointments.”

According to the coalition, reforms introduced by the Interior Ministry under Tunji-Ojo have significantly improved service delivery, including the digitization of passport applications, reduction of immigration bottlenecks, and improved efficiency in the management of correctional facilities.“ These reforms have restored public confidence in the ministry and demonstrated the tangible benefits of appointing the right people into leadership positions,” the statement read.

The coalition also praised Tunji-Ojo’s efforts to ensure transparency, sanitize operations across agencies under his ministry, and deploy technology to enhance efficiency. It described the Interior Ministry as “a model of reform, efficiency, and innovation.”Reaffirming its support, the coalition pledged to stand firmly behind Tinubu’s administration as long as its policies remain people-oriented.“

As far as the policies of this administration remain pro-people, we will continue to support President Tinubu and reformist ministers like Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. His example should be replicated across other sectors to deepen the dividends of democracy,” the group concluded.
