Manchester United are reportedly edging toward another managerial crisis following fresh revelations about Ruben Amorim’s uncertain position at Old Trafford. Despite receiving public backing from part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, mounting internal tension and inconsistent performances have fueled growing doubts about the Portuguese manager’s future.

According to Football Insider, Ratcliffe has privately urged patience, expressing his willingness to give Amorim up to three years to rebuild the team — drawing parallels with Mikel Arteta’s early struggles at Arsenal. However, sources within the club suggest that patience among senior executives and supporters is already wearing thin.

Although a 2–0 win over Sunderland provided brief relief, recent performances have done little to inspire confidence that United are moving in the right direction. Amorim’s side have endured a turbulent start to the season, losing as many league matches as they have won and suffering a shock Carabao Cup exit to Grimsby Town.

Insiders claim that another poor run after the international break could force the board to reconsider its stance, with Ratcliffe potentially pressured into making an early managerial decision.

Former United stars Gary Neville and Michael Owen have also voiced criticism, questioning Amorim’s leadership and accusing him of tactical inflexibility. Reports further indicate growing unrest in the dressing room, with some players said to be frustrated by the manager’s intense methods and negative post-match comments.

While Ratcliffe’s support remains publicly intact, sources warn that Amorim could be just one defeat away from plunging United back into full-blown crisis mode. Without an immediate turnaround in results and morale, his long-term project may not survive the club’s demanding expectations.
