The Abuja Leadership Centre (ALC) at Yakubu Gowon University, formerly the University of Abuja, has trained numerous secondary school prefects and student leaders in Kaduna State on effective leadership.
The programme, titled “Youth Clinic,” was organized by postgraduate students of the Centre on January 22, 2026. It brought together many young people for a dynamic and impactful leadership development session.
During the event, the Director of the Abuja Leadership Centre, Professor Philip Dahida, represented by Dr. Peter Adeyanju, reiterated the institution’s commitment to human capital development and its dedication to giving back to society by training young people and providing them with essential leadership knowledge.
Adeyanju further emphasized the necessity of training the upcoming generation in quality and impactful leadership. He called for a national focus on equipping young people with the information, exposure, and knowledge needed to assume leadership roles in the future.
The event was honoured by the presence of the former Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency Hon. Ramalan Yero, whose participation added significant value and inspiration to the clinic.
Yero commended the Abuja Leadership Centre and the university leadership while expressing his appreciation for the youth clinic, which served as a platform to empower young leaders with knowledge, vision, and practical insights for nation-building.
