Delta Governor Assures NYSC Members of Safety and Welfare in State

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has assured members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) serving in the state of the government’s commitment to their safety, welfare, and productivity throughout the service year.

The assurance was given at the official closing ceremony of the 2026 Batch A, Stream I orientation course at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Issele-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government Area. The governor was represented by the Commissioner for Youth Development, Barrister Harry ThankGod Trakirowei.

Oborevwori said the state government would continue to support the NYSC scheme through targeted interventions and resources. He encouraged corps members to apply the skills and values acquired during orientation to contribute meaningfully to their host communities and promote unity, peace, and development.

Earlier, the NYSC Delta State Coordinator, Mr. John Kwaghe, commended the corps members for their discipline and cooperation throughout the orientation exercise. He urged them to build on the training received, pursue post-camp development opportunities, and take practical steps toward entrepreneurship.

Kwaghe also expressed appreciation to the state government for its support of the scheme and appealed for assistance in furnishing a newly constructed 720-bed male hostel at the camp with bunk beds and mattresses.
