A Borno-based activist, Rev. Kallamu Musa Ali Dikwa, has alleged the presence of insurgent sympathisers within state and federal institutions and called for an official investigation into the claims.In a statement issued in Kaduna, Dikwa, Director General of the Centre for Justice on Religious and Ethnicity in Nigeria (CJREN), said his advocacy focuses on exposing what he described as networks linked to Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).
He urged security agencies to investigate individuals he believes may have information relevant to the allegations. Dikwa’s statement was a response to criticism from Elder Hassan Zanna Boguma, who had challenged earlier remarks attributed to the activist on social media.
In his rejoinder, Dikwa defended his position and said his claims had previously been reported to security authorities. He also alleged that parts of Borno’s Northern and Central Senatorial Districts remain affected by insurgent activities, though these claims could not be independently verified. The activist further referenced past submissions he said were made to national security institutions, including the Department of State Services (DSS) and other government offices, and called for renewed action.
There was no immediate response from Boguma or relevant authorities at the time of filing this report.Security experts have consistently emphasised the need for verified intelligence and coordinated institutional responses in addressing insurgency-related concerns in the North-East.
