The Oodua Integrity Group has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to investigate the reported delay preventing Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Idris Adamu (rtd) from assuming office as Chairman of the Military Pension Board. In a statement, the group said Adamu’s appointment was conveyed through the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and supported by correspondence from relevant government agencies.
However, the group alleged that the retired officer has yet to resume duties, claiming he has been unable to access his office despite the official announcement. Adebayo Soetan, Defence Affairs Liaison of the group, urged the Presidency to clarify the situation, describing the development as a matter that requires urgent attention to ensure compliance with due process.
He said government institutions are expected to act in line with lawful directives and emphasised the importance of maintaining administrative order within public agencies. The group called for a thorough review of the circumstances surrounding the delay, noting that prompt action would help reinforce confidence in governance processes. There has been no official response from the Military Pension Board or relevant authorities regarding the claims at the time of filing this report.
