Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has described the Cubana Millennium City project in Asaba as a major development that could enhance investment and urban growth in the state.The governor spoke during the inauguration of a prototype building within the estate, developed by businessman Obinna Iyiegbu.The event, which coincided with Iyiegbu’s 51st birthday, attracted dignitaries including the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Samuel Ogbuku.
Oborevwori commended the developer’s vision, noting that the project had progressed from an initial proposal to a completed prototype within a short period. He said the state government remains committed to providing a secure and enabling environment for investors, adding that authorities intervened to address land-related issues to support the project’s smooth execution.
The governor highlighted the role of public-private partnerships in infrastructure development, stating that the project aligns with the state’s goal of building modern and investment-friendly urban centres.In his remarks, Iyiegbu described the development as part of a broader effort to encourage local investment, noting that support from the state government and host communities contributed to its progress. He expressed confidence that the full Millennium City project would attract both local and international investors.
