Plateau Further Relaxes Curfew in Jos North to 7pm–5am

The has announced a further relaxation of the curfew imposed on following improvements in the security situation.

The decision, according to the government, was taken in consultation with security agencies after a review of developments in the area.

Commissioner for Information and Communication, , disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday in .

She said the curfew will now run from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. daily, effective April 15, 2026.

“The Plateau State Government, in consultation with security agencies, wishes to further relax the curfew imposed in the wake of recent disturbances. Consequently, as from Wednesday, April 15, 2026, curfew hours will be between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m.,” the statement said.

The government commended residents for their cooperation, noting that their support has contributed to the improved security situation.

It urged citizens to sustain the peaceful conduct as efforts continue to restore normalcy in Jos North and other parts of the state.

Residents were also advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security agencies.

The government reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, assuring that necessary measures will continue to be implemented to maintain peace across the state.
