Governor Tambuwal Inaugurates State Ramadan Feeding Committee For 2021

Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state inaugurated a high-powered committee for the 2021 Ramadan Feeding Programme (RFP).
The statement issued by the Senior Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the governor, Muhammad Bello said the 37 member committee, which is to be chaired by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Saidu Umar (Mallam Ubandoman Sokoto), is the same that accomplished similar task this year.
Re-appointing the committee when he received its report for the 2020 feeding at Government House, Sokoto, Gov. Tambuwal said government’s decision is informed by the recommendation made by it that ample time should be given to a future body that will be saddled with the same responsibility in order to enable it organize, plan and execute its tasks .
He said his administration will continue to execute various programmes aimed at uplifting the living standard of people in the state.
He thanked the committee members for a job well done and assured them that its  recommendations will be implemented.
Governor Tambuwal explained that, the state government will look into the possibility of extending the feeding programme to local government areas as recommended by the committee.
He also maintained that the programme is aimed at assisting people in the state irrespective of political differencies.
He  thanked all the people of the state for their support and prayers to his administration.
Earlier, in his remarks, the chairman of the committee, who is also the SSG, Alhaji Saidu Umar said in executing its assignment mapped out strategies of distributing raw foodstuff including rice and millet  to 100 needy people in 155 feeding centres designated for such purpose.
This, he explained was a departure from the past when cooked food was distributed to the needy in each of the centres.
According to him, the method employed this year yielded fruitful results as beneficiaries expressed satisfaction with it.
The committee also recommended the increase in the number of feeding centres due to increase of people’s need and increase in the membership of sub-committees.
