By Jabiru Hassan,Kano.

A retired civil servant with ministry of local government and chieftaincy affairs Malam Abba Tanko advised the northern governors to include the traditional rulers in the fight against insurgency in their respective states in order to control the security breach at all levels.

He gave the advise in a chat with Daybreak news correspondent in Kano, where he assured that including the traditional institutions in the northern region would help in the successful fight against insurgency because traditional rulers remain the the best option in achieving government’s programmes in every sector.

Malam Tanko added that ” I worked with traditional rulers in Kano state during my days as civil servant, and I am certain that involving them in the fight against insurgency would be an added advantage because they really know how to bring sanity into the societies with excellent results “. He said.

He called on the governors to remove politics in the fight against insurgency because playing politics in the security systems is a great mistake because there is serious challenges in politics especially in developing countries.
