Dala hard court lawn tennis tourney postponed

This year’s Dala Hard Court Lawn Tennis tournament in Kano has been postponed to next year.
The organisers , Dala Hard Court  Main Organising Committee Tournament Director, Yusuf Datti made this known on Thursday in an exclusive interview with Daybreak Sports.

Datti said the postponement of the 34th edition was necessitated by prevailing situation in the country.
He said with the COVID 19 pandemic and the security situation in the country, the organisers decided to move the competition to next year.
“”No Dala Hard Court tennis tourney this year, it has been moved to next year, in consideration of the health challenges and safety of all the participants, we are looking forward to a healthy and competitive competition for our players in the tournament,”” Datti said.

Datti said the body was grateful to it major sponsors, Dangote group and others for their support for the tournament.
He said First Bank, Fidelity Bank and the Kano State Government have been part of the success of the competition, which was also commendable.
Last years winners of the Men singles, Ladies singles and the men’s double went home with N1 million , N600,000 and N600,000 respectively.
