Justice Odili’s Home Invasion: Police Presents 15 Suspects in Court

The Nigerian Police on Wednesday brought 15 persons suspected to have participated in the invasion of the Abuja residence of the Supreme Court Justice, Mrs Mary Peter-Odili.

The 15 were part of 22 arrested and paraded on November 11 by the Police at its headquarters in Abuja.

They were brought into the court around 1.45pm by the personnel of the Federal Investigation Bureau, Special Tactical Squard (STS) and the police.

The suspects had on October 29, 2021, acting upon a controversial warrant of arrest issued by a Wuse Magistrate’s Court, attempted to gain access into the house of Justice Peter-Odili who is the second most senior Justice in the country.

They had claimed to be members of a special recovery panel in the Federal Ministry of Justice, although the ministry had since denied them, so has the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Department of State Services (DSS) and police.

However, following public outcry, the police had swung into action and arrested 22 persons out of which 15 have been brought to court for arraignment.

Among the 15 is a female, although her identity cannot be ascertained as at the time of this report.
