President Muhammadu Buhari has said he paid homage to Emir of Jama’a, HRH Muhammadu Isa II, and the Emir of Zazzau, HRH Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, for maintening peace in Kaduna.
He commended them for their leadership and their efforts at maintaining peace and togetherness within their domains.
The president made the remarks in a statement issued at the end of his four- days official working visit to Kaduna state where he commissioned various projects of Governor Nasir El-Rufai in the three senatorial zones of Kafanchan, Kaduna Central and Zaria respectively.
Buhari in a statement added that “I have just concluded a four-day official visit to Kaduna State, during which I commissioned several laudable projects by the State Government.
He stated that Governor Nasir El-Rufai deserved great commendation for his great accomplishments in the provision of infrastructure in the State. “I am glad to say I have seen with my own eyes the remarkable changes across all the three Senatorial zones of Kaduna State.
“I was very impressed by the rehabilitation I saw in Kafanchan, and it was my pleasure to commission the newly-constructed Dan Haya road, Katsina road and the Emir’s Palace road, in the town.
“In Kaduna metropolis, I inaugurated the new 800m Kawo Flyover, the remodelled Murtala Mohammed Square, a 136-bed Infectious Disease Hospital, the LEA Lokoja Road Primary School in Rigasa, Aliyu Makama road, and the Leventis underpass, all projects executed by the Kaduna State Government.
“I lived in Kaduna for many years, and on this visit I could hardly find my way around, due to the development taking place under Governor El-Rufai’s watch. He has done a great job, and Nigerians are appreciative that he is writing his history in letters of gold.
“On Friday we visited Zaria, where again we saw the remarkable work of the Governor. A little over two years ago I was in Zaria to commission Phase 2 of the Zaria water project, which made potable water available for the first time in more than three decades.
“On this visit, on Friday, I had the privilege of commissioning the remodelled Sabon Gari market – one of the oldest markets in Kaduna State; the Circular road with two spurs on River road and Kufena road; and the Queen Elizabeth way.
“It was also my privilege while in Kaduna State to commission the Barbedos fertilizer plant, a private sector investment, and yet more proof of the success of our administration’s intervention in that area.
“I also paid homage to the Emir of Jama’a, HRH Muhammadu Isa II, and the Emir of Zazzau, HRH Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli. I thanked them for their leadership and their efforts at maintaining peace and togetherness within their domains.
“I am indeed very pleased to be associated with Governor El-Rufai’s successes and initiatives. In spite of scarce resources and the prevailing economic reality, the Kaduna State government has done very well for the people of the State.
“The relationship between the Federal Government and the Kaduna State Government is a commendable model of successful collaboration for progress, peace and prosperity” he stated.
He therefore urged Malam Nasir El-Rufai to push on and not relent in his efforts to accelerate change and progress in Kaduna State.
